This three day mountain biking adventure takes you through some of the most scenic and authentic landscapes in Bulgaria, blending challenging trails with cultural encounters and local hospitality. The first day begins from Sofia and takes you through forest paths, reservoirs, and the village of Kladnitsa before reaching Studena Dam. From there, you follow an asphalt road toward Bosnek, riding along the Struma River and passing through Chuiptlovo. The first day offers a good mix of climbs, descents, and forest routes, making it both exciting and rewarding with the support of a professional mountain bike guide. The night is spent in Bosnek or a nearby village, offering a chance to rest and prepare for the following stage.
The second day starts with a descent to Yarlovo and continues through meadows with spectacular views of the Rila Mountains. The route leads you through several villages including Zheleznitsa, Bistritsa, Simeonovo, Dragalevtsi, and Boyana before returning to Sofia. This stage is easier than the first, taking about five to six hours for moderately prepared cyclists, though the first day usually requires seven to eight hours due to steeper climbs and more demanding terrain. Overnight stay is arranged in Bankya, a charming town known for its peaceful atmosphere. On the third day, the ride continues from Bankya across rural roads to Bozhurishte and Gurmazovo, before returning to Bankya and climbing toward the Klisura Monastery. The final part offers either a finish at the monastery or a continuation through the town center. Throughout the trip, logistics and transfers are supported by a VW Transporter or Toyota Hilux, with a maximum group size of four people, ensuring comfort and personalized attention. This adventure offers not only physical challenge but also a glimpse of authentic Bulgarian villages and warm encounters with locals.
