Your journey begins in the vibrant heart of Tirana, where a cozy hotel welcomes you to Albania’s energetic capital. After check-in, you'll meet your guide to discuss the upcoming adventure before setting off on a walking tour through some of the city's most iconic landmarks, such as Skanderbeg Square, the Clock Tower, and the historic Mosque of Tirana. The walk continues into the lively Blloku district, once the exclusive enclave of the communist elite, now known for its stylish bars and restaurants. Dinner is served at a traditional restaurant, and those who wish can return to Blloku afterward for a local nightcap. For early arrivals, a visit to the National Museum offers a glimpse into Albania's complex past. The following day, the trip heads south to Vlora and Llogora National Park, with a stop at the archaeological site of Apollonia. This ancient city, founded by Greek colonists, flourished under Roman influence before fading after a powerful earthquake. A peaceful lunch under the trees in Apollonia Park precedes your ascent to the cool heights of Llogora, where a family-run mountain hotel provides warm hospitality, homemade wine and raki, and a delicious traditional dinner.
The dramatic landscape of Llogora sets the stage for your first trek, with trails offering breathtaking views over the Ionian Sea and Vlora Bay. The next day, the journey continues with a hike to the high pass of Mount Çika, offering panoramas of southern Albania’s wild highlands and glimpses of Corfu on the horizon. As the trail ends, the route follows the coastal road past Himara to the seaside village of Qeparo, stopping at the historic fortress of Ali Pasha Tepelena in Porto Palermo. From here, enjoy a relaxing evening in a guesthouse by the beach and a chance to explore the old hilltop village. As the road winds further south, Saranda awaits with its rich blend of history and holiday charm. A highlight is the visit to the UNESCO site of Butrint, where ruins from multiple civilizations lie among lush wetlands teeming with birdlife. After lunch and leisure by the sea, the inland road leads to Gjirokastër, a beautifully preserved town of stone houses and steep cobbled alleys. Here, the castle and museums tell stories of Albania's history, culture, and political legacy. The journey then continues to Berat, one of the country’s oldest towns, filled with centuries-old churches, Ottoman houses, and the stunning Onufri Icons Museum. Finally, a stop in Durres offers a chance to unwind by the sea before returning to Tirana, wrapping up a journey full of natural wonders, historical riches, and unforgettable cultural encounters.
