This unforgettable desert journey begins with a scenic drive from Jamaa El Fna square in Marrakech, crossing the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters. Along the way, you'll witness stunning landscapes before reaching Ouarzazate, famously known as the “Gateway to the Sahara” and the “Hollywood of North Africa” for its renowned film studios where blockbusters like Gladiator, Alexander the Great, and Game of Thrones were filmed. An optional visit to the film studios is available. After lunch, the journey continues along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing the lush Skoura Oasis and the fragrant Valley of Roses before arriving in the scenic Dades Valley for an overnight stay. The next morning, we travel through breathtaking mountain landscapes to the towering Todgha Gorges for a leisurely walk. After lunch en route, we reach the edge of the Sahara Desert to meet our camel team for a magical ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets and paints the dunes with rich colors, we arrive at a traditional Berber camp for dinner, mint tea, and local music under a sky full of stars.
After a peaceful night under the starry desert sky and breakfast amid the dunes, the adventure continues back toward Ouarzazate through the desert towns of Alnif and N’kob, with a stop for lunch along the way. We travel through the beautiful and fertile Draa Valley, famous for its palm groves, henna fields, and date production, before spending the night again in Ouarzazate. The following morning, travelers have the option to take part in an exciting quad biking experience or simply enjoy a relaxed breakfast before heading to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. This historic village, once a caravan stop between Timbuktu and Marrakech, has been featured in numerous films and series such as Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones. After exploring the ancient kasbah and enjoying lunch, we cross back over the High Atlas Mountains, returning to Marrakech by evening. The trip concludes with a drop-off at the nearest parking area to your hotel or riad, marking the end of a journey filled with natural beauty, cultural heritage, and unforgettable desert experiences.
