Departing from Tirana, the journey begins with a scenic drive to Koman Lake, where a ferry ride across the lake reveals the remote village of Berisha. Nestled along the lake’s edge, this isolated community opens its doors to a rare kind of hospitality, offering a stay with the only local family welcoming tourists. The experience includes kayaking and exploring the tranquil waters of Koman Lake, surrounded by dramatic landscapes and untouched nature. From there, the route continues toward Valbona through the town of Bajram Curri, with a stop for lunch before heading into the remote area of Kukaj, where visitors witness the simplicity and resilience of mountain life.
The journey deepens with a memorable hike from Valbona to Theth, an ancient trail once used by locals to travel on foot between the valleys. Along the way, century-old stone towers and scenic vistas blend with forested paths and charming traditional cafes. Theth offers a rich mix of nature and cultural heritage, highlighted by the symbolic “Lock-in Tower,” a testament to the region's storied past. Before returning to Tirana, a short hike to Gurnas Waterfall offers one last moment of immersion in Theth’s beauty. The journey concludes in the northern city of Shkoder, with time to explore before heading back to the capital.
