We will begin our tour by visiting three of the most famous temples in the Small Circuit: Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm. Angkor Wat, built between 1113 and 1150 AD by King Suryavarman II, is an immense and breathtaking temple that spans 330 meters by 260 meters. It features three levels, with five towering spires symbolizing Mount Meru. This magnificent temple is not only a UNESCO World Heritage site but also the national symbol of Cambodia, proudly featured on the country's flag as a representation of its soul. After exploring Angkor Wat, we may also visit a smaller temple nearby if you still have the energy to discover more.
The tour continues with a visit to Angkor Thom City, where we’ll stop at the South Gate and admire the towering statues lining the entrance. From there, we will explore the Bayon Temple, famous for its serene faces gazing down at visitors from every angle. Next, we’ll visit Baphuon Temple, Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King, and the remains of the Royal Palace, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Khmer civilization. Finally, we’ll conclude the day with a visit to Ta Prohm, known as the Tomb Raider Temple due to its iconic appearance in the film. After a day filled with history, art, and stunning architecture, we’ll return to the hotel to relax.
