Zaanse Schans e-bike day trip

A relaxed and enjoyable e-bike tour takes you from the heart of Amsterdam to the picturesque Zaanse Schans, making it a perfect experience for both young and old. Riding on a comfortable, brand-new e-bike, you’ll travel through the beautiful North Holland landscape under the guidance of a friendly local guide. The journey begins at Yellow Bike, just a five-minute walk from Central Station, followed by a short ferry ride to Amsterdam Noord. Along the way, you’ll pass the historic Krijtmolen and cycle through the peaceful nature reserve ’t Twiske. When the miller is present, there is often an opportunity to step inside the Twiskemolen for a closer look at its traditional mechanics.

Upon reaching the Zaanse Schans, you’ll have a full hour to explore at your own pace. This open-air heritage village is world-famous for its stunning windmills, charming wooden houses, and traditional crafts. You can visit the iconic mills, enjoy a drink, watch craftsmen at work, and sample local delicacies such as cheese and chocolate. The tour continues on a different scenic route back to Amsterdam, passing the impressive “Kissing Couple” sculpture and the striking architecture of the Inntel Hotel Zaandam before returning to the starting point.
