Paphos: Tour to Troodos, Kykkos Monastery, Omodos and Winery

At the base of the mountains, Omodos village, nestled among vineyards, invites us to stroll through its narrow cobblestone streets and visit the Timios Stavros Monastery, home to a sacred relic of the Holy Cross and Rope.

We’ll also pass through the charming mountain villages of Pedoulas and Prodromos, before reaching the famed Kykkos Monastery. Founded in the 11th century, this monastery is one of the wealthiest and most ornate on the island, housing the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, believed to have been painted by St. Luke. From its terrace, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, covered in lush forests and vibrant flora, perfect for a peaceful stroll.

Another highlight is the Tomb of Archbishop Makarios, located on Mount Throni. Overlooking the Kykkos Monastery, this serene site is the final resting place of Cyprus’ first president and a significant pilgrimage spot, offering sweeping views of the island.

To end the day, we’ll stop at a local winery where you can savor traditional wines like Commandaria and Zivania, completing a memorable journey through Cyprus’ rich history and natural beauty.
