Antwerp Beer Tour

Antwerp is one of Belgium’s most diverse and vibrant cities, blending rich history, port culture, and world-class beer traditions. This 4-hour Antwerp Beer Tour takes you on a journey through the city’s beer culture, historic landmarks, and hidden local bars, ensuring an authentic taste of the local scene.

Your adventure begins at Groenplaats, where you’ll meet your guide next to the statue of Peter Paul Rubens. After an introduction to Antwerp’s history, we’ll walk towards the Main Square, home to the iconic Brabo Fountain and Our Lady Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Inside, you’ll admire works by the legendary Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens, including his masterpiece The Descent from the Cross.

From there, we head to De Koninck Brewery, one of Antwerp’s most famous beer brands, known for its distinctive malty and spicy flavors. Enjoy your first beer tasting and learn about the brewing techniques that set Antwerp beers apart.

The tour then takes you off the beaten path to explore the Red Light District and historic meat halls, followed by a stop at a traditional dockworkers' bar, where you’ll taste a second local beer while taking in the views of Antwerp’s bustling port and harbor installations.

Following the scenic Scheldt River, we make our way back to the Main Square for a Geneva gin tasting. This traditional Belgian spirit is ice-cold and bold, comparable to German schnapps. Paired with local street food dishes, it offers a true taste of Antwerp’s culinary culture.

To complete the experience, we’ll visit some of the city’s oldest brown cafés, where the atmosphere remains unchanged since the 1970s, playing classic rock hits from Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. Enjoy three more beer tastings, learning the stories behind each brew.

By the end of the tour, you can either continue the night by mingling with locals over more Belgian beers or venture off to explore Antwerp’s nightlife on your own.
