About this activity

Join a knowledgeable local guide on an unforgettable circular hiking adventure through the stunning waterfalls area of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This 15km route, with 400m of elevation gain, takes you to all six of the park’s main waterfalls as well as hidden cascades, scenic valleys, and lush forests. The tour begins with pick-up from the front steps of the National Museum in Cardiff, followed by a comfortable journey in a modern, fully electric vehicle with a small group of no more than seven passengers. Your driver-guide Andy—a certified Mountain Leader, Green Badged Tourist Guide, and former Brecon Beacons National Park Warden—brings a wealth of experience, passion, and stories to the day’s journey. As you hike through rough and often muddy terrain, you’ll learn about the natural and cultural history of the area, and have opportunities to walk behind waterfalls and even take a refreshing swim in the final pool.

While the waterfalls area can attract crowds, your guide will lead you along quieter, lesser-travelled paths that offer a more peaceful and immersive experience—especially midweek. With over thirty years of guiding experience in the region, your team knows the trails, history, and hidden gems that bring this landscape to life. You may encounter a seasonal pop-up café along the way (open May to September), but it’s best to bring a packed lunch and a warm drink, as weather often affects its operation. This expertly guided hike offers not only stunning views and memorable moments but also deep insights into the natural beauty and industrial heritage of one of Wales’ most iconic landscapes.
