Enjoy access to the Erawan Museum, located just outside Bangkok in Samut Prakan province, and discover how it was built as a powerful symbol of peace and humanity. The museum showcases the arts, philosophies, religious diversity, and spirit of Asia within its extraordinary architecture. Upon arrival, be captivated by the magnificent three-headed elephant sculpture that forms part of the building’s exterior, recognized as the world’s first and largest hand-carved structure. Inside, the museum is divided into three symbolic levels representing the underworld, the earth, and heaven. Begin your journey at the Suvarnabhumi Level, the underground section, where you can view a fascinating collection of ancient artifacts and porcelain, including the exquisite Thai Benjarong ceramic ware. This level also features the figure of Naga, the snake-like deity believed in Buddhist tradition to be the giver of water and protector of the underworld.

Continue your exploration to the Earth Section, a circular base that supports the elephant structure. Here, you will find an impressive fusion of art and architecture blending both Western and Eastern influences. The ceiling design mirrors the earth’s surface, while intricate stained-glass artwork creates a vibrant display of color and light. Finally, ascend to the Cosmo Level, located within the elephant’s body, where the walls are beautifully adorned with paintings depicting gods and goddesses floating in heaven. After exploring the interior, take time to wander through the surrounding gardens, which feature a variety of rare trees from across Thailand, many with deep roots in Thai mythology and literature.
